British road and track cyclist
Mark Cavendish once said: "It doesn't matter if the sun
is shining or it is raining. When I'm riding my bike I'm the
happiest person in the world..."
Class 2b took part in an
unusual project for 2 months (March 27-31, 2021). As part
of the promotion of outdoor activity and a healthy
lifestyle, the class tutors, Ms Sabina Kurasik,
encouraged students to take up the BICYCLE CHALLENGE.
It consisted in the fact that after lessons, as part of their
free time, students ride a bike, collecting kilometers in a
special application, taking photos of the surroundings,
buildings, beautiful landscapes, which we have a lot in our
areas. These photos were sent by the class teacher each time.
Every week, Mrs. Sabina made a summary showing who and
how many kilometers traveled, which mobilized the students to
continue healthy competition. Students not only collected
kilometers, but also memories and experiences, often getting
to know new places, their history and nature around.
It is extremely happy that two
people learned to ride a bike thanks to this challenge. The
homeroom teacher of the class that forms part of it took part
in this project (apart from the competition) collecting
kilometers together with the children. It should also be
mentioned that children often organized themselves in such a
way as to be able to ride together, under the care of a given
parent, which strengthened the bonds and integrated them. It
is very nice that often whole families were involved in this
project, spending their time together and actively.
It also happened to go for a
short ride with the class teacher. Our goal was to
virtually reach the Baltic Sea and then return to Sanok.
Every now and then, in class, we pulled out a map and, with
the summed up kilometers we collected together, we looked at
where we actually got. We managed to achieve our goal because
we collected a total of 1,778 km as a class. On the
occasion of outdoor activities, infecting children with a
passion for bicycles and sensitivity to the beauty of nature
around us, it was a great opportunity to work with a map and
get to know many Polish cities and their location.
Promoting the "LITTLE HOMELAND"
- Sanok and its vicinity - we made our struggles, among
others, for the Erasmus+ Program project "I will show you
my homeland", which sponsored the awards for children. ),
students also received diplomas and medals.
Out of 15 class students, 11
children attended. These are the results of the students
in grade 2b:
1st place - Wiktor Gac with a
score of 509.1 km
2nd place - Kacper Wanielista with a score of 176.4 km
3rd place - Amelia Domaradzka with a score of 146.7 km
4th place - Jakub Gurgacz with a score of 108.9 km
5th place - Julia Gurgacz with a score of 67.9 km
6th place - Amelia Wojdyła with a score of 65.2 km
7th place - Kacper Flur with a score of 64.7 km
8th place - Lena Kraczkowska with a score of 61.5 km
9th place - Nikola Sowiecka with a score of 43.4 km
10th place - Konstancja Kruszyńska with a score of 31.6 km
11th place - Michał Zubik with a score of 7.8 km
Apart from the competition (it is
obvious), the class teacher, Mrs. Sabina Kurasik, climbed
494.8 km.
Beginning with the cyclist's
quote, ending with the message of the scientist Albert
Einstein, namely: "Life is like riding a bicycle. To
keep your balance you have to move forward..."
!!! We
invite you to watch the movie from our bicycle trips,
effort put into the implementation of this project by the
children and the class teacher !!!
109 | Visit to the SKANSEN -
One God, Three Religions...
On Monday, after the exam and
covid regime, class 8 as part of the Erasmus+ project "I
know the world I know myself" went on a trip to the
Open-Air Museum in Sanok for the workshop "One God, three
religions" ending the project "I will show you my
homeland".
The weather and spirit were good,
and the most important thing was that we could spend time
together again, learning in the open air. The guide, Mr.Marcin,
discovered the secrets of life in the former Sanok,
reminding us that Poles, Jews and Russians, that is,
today's Ukrainians, lived in our city.
We were the first in the Open Air
Museum to visit the Jewish Synagogue, which had not
been fully renovated. We heard about Jewish holidays and
customs. We were also in a Jewish house, where a Jew from
Sanok, Marek, showed us. Then we visited the church,
where we learned about the differences between Greek
Catholic and Orthodox churches. The last place was a visit
to the Roman Catholic church of St. Nicholas with the
oldest functioning organs. We also summarized all
religions and common characteristics for all.
For so many years people of
different nationalities and religions have lived together,
raising children, working and drawing on common traditions.
Respect and tolerance are
very important features that must accompany us in everyday
life from an early age.
The workshops and the trip
were prepared by Mrs. Zdzisława Janowska and Mrs. Gertruda
Lubieniecka Jakiel.
108 | Online meeting in
Mazara del Vallo - day 3...
The third day of the meeting belonged to the children.
Students from all partner schools joined together online.
Students from Mazara del Vallo presented first the museum of
their town and its most impressive exhibit - a sculpture of a
dancing Satyr.
Then Spanish students presented tourist attractions of their
town Puertollano:
---
a statue of a miner made in 1983,
---
Agria Fountain, a natural fountain with healing waters
discovered in 1575,
---
the Mining Museum, a local museum commemorating the existence
of mines in the town.
The students of the school from Gaggio Montano presented the
results of their project "I am the Earth".
Then it was time for France. Students from Milizac sang a song
for us about equality, respect and the values that are
important in relationships with other people.
At the end of the meeting the students from Polish school
performed. They introduced themselves and told about their
interests. Then, we showed everyone a short video about our
town and wishes from the mayor of Sanok, Mr. T. Matuszewski.
The video became a basis for a quiz prepared in the
KAHOOT
application. The test was solved by all participants of the
meeting, and the school from Gaggio Montano won.
Congratulations.

Mazara del Vallo - day 2...
The second day of the meeting was also full of interesting
projects. The school in Mazara del Vallo presented the way of
evaluation, that is assessing the work of school and students
in Italy. Active learning projects were also presented:

celebration of Earth Day in kindergarten and school classes,
---
the works of art and technology carried out on various
occasions (Easter, Independence Day, cards, seasons of the
year, the Constitution, Dante Alighieri...). One of the most
interesting projects was "Works by masters", in which children
imitated masters of painting while creating their own works,
---
sports activities.
Other presentations were made by the French school from
Milizac. These were:
- A walk around the school, presentation of photos of the
school taken by the students,
- Blu bot project" - using multimedia tools in teaching
various subjects.
At the end of all presentations we watched a virtual walk
around the city of Mazara del Vallo.

105 | "I HAVE A TALENT" - say
7a grade students...
The
last day of the meeting was devoted to projects carried out in
partner schools.
Spanish teachers talked about two projects: "CACE PROJEKT" and
"PLAY BEACK".
"CACE PROJEKT" is implemented to prevent students from
failing in school. It involves all students at school, parents
and teachers. It is carried out in the after-school period and
covers the following areas: family, school, leisure,
health, personal development and life in
society.
Activities under "PLAY BEACK" include the preparation
of musical performances such as "Alladyn", "Mery Popins",
"Hercules".
Currently, due to the pandemic, dance classes take place in
the school yard and are recorded by a drone.
The school from Gaggio Montano showed what a surprise the
teachers had prepared for the first day of school. This
was a surprise for the children who were returning to school
after a 7-month pandemic shutdown. On the pitch, balloons were
prepared to which the children attached their dreams,
and the teachers welcomed the students to the "new school",
that is to the school with the rules of pandemic safety.
The Polish school presented two projects; "I HAVE A TALENT"
and "TEACHERS 'TALENTS AND INTERESTS". The first project
was a summary of the "MY TALENT - MY HOBBY"
competition, in which students presented their talents and
interests. The presentation about teachers was also very
interesting. It turned out that our teachers have many
different interests and hobbies, from excursions and
travel to… flying.
!!! We thank the teachers and students of Puartollano
for a very interesting meeting, inspiring presentations and a
great, cordial atmosphere !!!
!!! See you soon in Mazara del Valo !!!

101 | INTERESTING FACTS
AROUND US - test for partner schools...
04/20/2021 - SECOND DAY OF
MEETING.
The second day of the meeting was in the morning
because the students were taking part in it.
The Spanish school prepared a TEST, which was taken by
Italian students from the Gaggio Montano school. The
test was in English and was about "Interesting facts around
us". Of course, the teachers who were willing to take
the test were also having a great time.
Then the children presented legends from their countries.
Spain presented the legend of the "Mosque in Cordoba",
which is related to a love story between a Christian and a
Muslim.
Children from the school in Gaggio Montano told the story
of the creation of the symbol of their school, and students
from the school in Sicily told the legend of the love of a
Moorish sailor and a beautiful Sicilian woman, which ended
tragically. These events are remembered by the heads of lovers
displayed on balconies to this day. Later, the children of
Mazara del Vallo sang the anthem of their city.
At the end, the legend of "Lech, Czech and Rus" was read by
a student from our school.
